Bronze Lock
A lock and latch by Hobb’s & Co.
This lock and the remains of the door that it is attached to came from Whitehall, London. The lock bears the War Department stamp and broad arrow which aids in dating this interesting item to 1855, which is interestingly when both the War Department and Hobb’s and Co changed their names.
More important than the age of this lock is the patina it has developed in this time which is incredible.
