The Slade Folding Garden Chair
Inspired by an antique folding garden chair acquired from Alec Horne at Chatham Dockyard, the Slade is named in honour of Sir Thomas Slade (1703/04–1771), the distinguished naval architect and former Master Shipwright at Chatham, best remembered for designing HMS Victory.
Each chair is made by hand to order in Kent, using carefully selected quartersawn oak, steam-bent slats and stainless steel fittings. Its simple, practical construction reflects the traditions of English craftsmanship, combining an elegant form with the convenience of a folding design.
The Slade is also available in deal (pine), finished in a choice of painted colours.
Handmade to order in Kent, England.
